
Open Call “Culture and Health 2025” – Support for Artists in Poland
The Urban Culture Institute – City of Weaves in Bielsko-Biała invites applications for the open call for projects “Culture and Health 2025”. This initiative, implemented within the European platform CultureAndHealth, aims to support artists working in Poland at the intersection of art, health, education, and the social sector.
What we offer:
- Financial support for project that bridge culture and health: 10,000 PLN gross
- International mobility and increased visibility,
- Trainings and capacity-building initiatives,
- Mentoring/work counseling provided by Urban Culture Institute – City of Weaves,
- Peer support and networking opportunities,
- Showcasing events to highlight artists' work.
Who are we looking for?
We invite emerging professional artists – of any age – who are beginning to develop their practice in the field combining culture, health, and social well-being.
What kind of projects can receive support?
We are seeking initiatives that, through artistic actions:
- Support mental and physical health of individuals and communities,
- Promote health prevention through art,
- Introduce art and culture into healthcare or social care institutions,
- Support the well-being of the artistic community.
Important:
The project must be implemented in collaboration with an organization from the health, education, or social sector in Poland (a signed letter of intent from the partner is required).
Key dates:
- Applications open: May 5 – June 30, 2025
- Results announcement: September 1, 2025
- Project implementation: until October 2026

About Author

Edyta Ruta is the coordinator of the "Culture and Health" program and international relations at the Urban Culture Institute – City of Weaves in Bielsko-Biała in Poland. She co-authored the city’s bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2029, placing culture, health, and well-being at its core. In 2024, she co-organized the international conference Culture for Health and Well-being. She represents the institute in the EU co-funded Culture and Health platform.

Cultural animator, designer, and manager of socio-artistic projects. She specializes in creating initiatives that connect art, education, and social engagement, with a strong focus on local communities. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. She is a member of the steering committee of the international network inSitu, which is dedicated to art in public space.
