"Przystanek: Sztuka” (“Bus Stop: Art”)
"Przystanek: Sztuka" is a project that brings art into the urban space of Bielsko-Biała, transforming bus stops into open-air galleries. It’s art on the go – for those boarding, alighting, pausing for a moment, or simply passing by in the rush of everyday life.
Where advertisements usually dominate, now stand artworks created by artists connected to the city. In multiple locations, bus stops have been repurposed to showcase works by creators specializing in street art, photography, and urban-inspired art instead of traditional citylight ads.
The first edition of the project, titled "Street", is dedicated to the rhythm, energy, and presence of the street in art. Artists whose work engages with public space in various ways – through graffiti, murals, artistic interventions, or photographic documentation of the urban landscape – have been invited to participate.
The "Street" series features works by: Alicja Jakimów, Małgorzata Rozenau, Megi Kopaniszyn, Dorota Koperska, Marcin “Malik” Malicki, Turbos, Projekt Etnograff (Maciej “Kamer” Szymonowicz and Katka Dyga-Szymonowicz), Wojciech Kobyliński, Piotr Graff, Damian Górny, Michał Baranowski, and Paweł Świątek.
The organizers and initiators of the "Bus Stop: Art" project are Punkt 11 and the Institute of Urban Culture – City of Weaves.
The project is curated by Aleksandra Tarnawa and Justyna Łabądź.
