Card Game Exhibition

Do you play fair, bluff, or maybe you've got a poker face? Find out what kind of player you are! From March 28 to April 24, the Punkt Widzenia Gallery invites you to Punkt 11 for an exhibition dedicated to modern card games.

Entering the world of card games means immersing yourself in stories told through images, rules, and interaction with other players. Cards are not just a tool for gameplay—they are miniature works of art and carriers of emotion. Each deck tells its own story—visually, mechanically, and narratively refined.

At the exhibition, you’ll see a unique cross-section of contemporary card games:

  • Exploding Kittens – a crazy, dynamic game full of randomness and dark humor. You never know when you’ll draw a kitty-boom.
  • Unstable Unicorns – colorful, funny, and packed with negative interaction. You build your unicorn army and do everything you can to sabotage others.
  • Smoki (pol. Dragons) – a tactical game where you collect dragons by color and traits to earn points. Simple but requires planning.
  • Alice is Missing – a dark, atmospheric role-playing game where each player takes on a character from a fairytale-like world and creates a mysterious story.
  • Seasons – a combination of strategy and card drafting, played in the rhythm of changing seasons. Visually stunning and intellectually demanding.
  • Pokémon – the classic collectible card game where you collect, train, and battle with your favorite childhood (and beyond) creatures.

You’ll also see custom-made decks created for the Museum of Photography (MuFo), showcasing how cards can visually narrate stories related to culture, memory, and photography, alongside the iconic Bicycle deck, whose elegant design has accompanied magicians and players worldwide for years.

We focus on modern card games that you can discover and play here and now. We show how graphic design aligns with gameplay mechanics and how creators build cohesive worlds in the 63 × 88 mm format.

We also explore the variety of styles—from grotesque humor, through fairy-tale darkness, to pure beauty in composition and color—and the secrets of card deception: techniques of cardsharps and illusionist tricks that have fascinated players and audiences for centuries.

This is an interactive exhibition—you can look at the cards up close, touch them, compare them, and even play selected titles. Because cards truly come to life only when someone holds them in their hand.
