Culture Next is a European network founded in 2017, dedicated to cities bidding for the title of European Capital of Culture – both those that have been awarded the title and those that have not. The network is currently co-funded by the European Union.
The mission of Culture Next is to support the implementation of an increasing number of European Capital of Culture programs across cities and regions in Europe, while shaping a long-term vision of local development based on culture and creativity.
Building on the experiences and collaborations established during the ECoC bidding process, Culture Next helps cities in developing culture-driven local policies and programs. The network’s partners are committed to ensuring a lasting impact and creating a meaningful legacy for the European Capital of Culture initiative.
