Concept Art – exhibition of graphics for The Thaumaturge
28.02–21.03.2025 Punkt Widzenia Gallery presents an exhibition of concept art for the game The Thaumaturge, created by the Bielsko-Biała-based studio Fool’s Theory.
The exhibition brings attention to a lesser-known area of art – concept art created for video game production. Using The Thaumaturge as an example, visitors will be able to see how visual concepts for game worlds are developed. The game was created by
Fool’s Theory, a studio based in the Beskidy Mountains since 2015, specializing in narrative RPGs.
The goal of the exhibition is to popularize concept art, which, outside the Internet, remains relatively unknown. Visitors will have the opportunity to see early versions of characters and objects, as well as learn how different stages of the creative process influence their final appearance.
The exhibition primarily targets young people who may be interested in games, their production, and potential future careers in the industry. Other audiences include video game enthusiasts and the general public interested in discovering new fields of art.
The exhibition opening took the form of an open discussion rather than a traditional vernissage. In a relaxed atmosphere, visitors could engage with the artworks and discuss them with one another. This is a new format we are testing, as we have found that young people are not particularly keen on traditional vernissages.
On March 13th, we will invite the public to an accompanying event – a Q&A session with Fool’s Theory concept artist Ewa Czajkowska. Guests will have the opportunity to ask her about her work in the gaming industry. Questions can be submitted via an online form or asked during the event through a moderator.
